The proprietary PVA gel is injectable and therefore the procedure is minimally invasive.

The PVA can be considered as a kind of polymerized water and this aspect is the basis of its generally accepted excellent biocompatibility

As the PVA gel contains PVA and water only, it is a simple system which is easy to control

The gelling of the injectable PVA happens in situ and is the result of a purely physical process, no chemical reactions nor side products are involved

Extrusion of implanted gels is known to be the central failure mode in the field of nucleus replacement, but heavy duty biomechanical test with the InnoSpine gel implanted in isolated human intervertebral disks showed no extrusion at all
